TYPES OF QUALIFICATIONS

At Universal Arts School we offer you four types of degrees within each area of interest, so you can choose which training you want to pursue depending on your professional goals. You can focus on specializing in one part of the audiovisual production process, or have a broader profile by learning about several areas of the process.

All training at Universal Arts School is based on the [EP] Methodology, which is based on the student acquiring the skills of the Pro Industry, compiling them into a Project and teaching them to that market. It's a system that works, and it works for all those students who are hard working and determined to go far.

Training Essentials

Training Essentials is an innovative educational program that offers intensive courses designed to provide students with the fundamental foundation in various areas of knowledge, as well as delve into specific aspects within those areas. This program is designed for those who want to quickly acquire essential knowledge and skills in a limited time.

These programs can last from 2 weeks to 2 months.

Training Essentials Key Features:

Variety of Topics: Training Essentials covers a wide range of knowledge areas, from academic disciplines to practical skills. Students can choose between different courses that cover topics such as illustration, animation, 3D modeling, programming, cinema, among others.
Intensive Focus: During each course, students are immersed in a highly focused and concentrated learning environment. Accelerated teaching methodologies are used to maximize the assimilation of knowledge and promote effective learning in a short period of time.
Foundational Content: Training Essentials courses focus on providing students with a solid foundation in each subject area. Fundamental concepts and principles are covered, enabling students to grasp key concepts and develop a solid understanding of the subject matter.
In-Depth Exploration: In addition to the fundamentals, some Training Essentials courses offer the opportunity to explore more advanced and specialized aspects within a specific discipline. This allows students to delve into areas of their interest and acquire more specialized knowledge in a short period of time.
Hands-On Learning: Training Essentials courses promote hands-on learning through projects, exercises, and case studies. Students have the opportunity to apply the acquired knowledge in real-world situations, allowing them to develop practical skills and consolidate their understanding of theoretical concepts.

CERTIFICATE

The certificate is an innovative and intensive educational program designed to provide a comprehensive curriculum and encompass the knowledge and content typically found in our 2-year Master's programs. However, the Certificate distinguishes itself by condensing this wealth of information and expertise into a condensed 1-year timeframe, catering to ambitious individuals seeking a faster route to acquire advanced skills and qualifications.

The program is carefully structured to ensure that students receive a rigorous education and a deep understanding of their chosen field, while maintaining the same standards and quality. By leveraging cutting-edge teaching methodologies and advanced technologies, The Certificate optimizes the learning process, offering an immersive and enriching experience.

In a Certificate program you will find:

Comprehensive Curriculum: The Certificate's curriculum encompasses the core subjects and specialized topics covered in a 2-year Master's program. It is designed to equip students with a holistic understanding of their field, enabling them to gain mastery over the subject matter.

Master

Students who choose to pursue a Master's degree at Universal Arts School choose to specialize in one area of the production process. During their 2-year training, they acquire all the necessary knowledge to perform their professional work at a high level.

In this case, the admission process evaluates their abilities, skills and attitudes in that area.

Double Master

Students who choose to pursue a Dual Master's Degree at Universal Arts School choose to specialize in two areas of the production process. In the case of this training, students can choose to take the program in normal mode, in two years at an intensive pace, or Extent, in three years at a slower pace.

This type of training is designed so that the student obtains a high profile by having knowledge of two related areas of development.

In this case, the admission process evaluates their abilities, skills and attitudes with respect to these areas, and may place more emphasis on one of them, depending on each profile.

4-year career

Students who choose to pursue a career at Universal Arts School choose to obtain a profile with knowledge in more areas, within the specialization. In this 4-year training, students specialize in three areas of the production process, having a broader profile for the development of projects. They finish their training, therefore, with a much broader and high-level profile.

In this case, students can choose to present a polyvalent profile for the admission process, or focus on one of the areas of knowledge included in the career.

5-year career

Students who choose to study a Double Degree at Universal Arts School choose to obtain a profile with knowledge in more areas, within the specialization. In this 5-year training, students specialize in four areas of the production process, having the broadest profile of all possible within the Universal Arts School training. They finish their training, therefore, with the broadest and highest level profile.

In this case, students can choose to present a polyvalent profile for the admission process, or focus on one of the areas of knowledge included in the Dual Degree.

STEPS

To access Universal Arts School's programs you must first pass the Admissions Process*, which is 100% free of charge. In this process we evaluate your attitudes, skills and abilities to ensure that this is the right training for your career goals.

*Starting the admission process does not guarantee a seat

Step 1: Admission Form

The first step to officially start the admission process is to fill out the admission form. With the data provided we are looking to get to know you a little better. You can attach, if you have one, a link to your online portfolio (it can be anything from an Instagram account to an Artstation account) so we can review your current level.

Step 2: Level Test

Through this test, we evaluate your current level in the area in which you have chosen to train. This level test can be carried out by means of a portfolio review or by means of a specific test to be specified according to the selected training.

Step 3: Admission Interview

The purpose of this interview is to find out what are your motivations and the professional goals you want to achieve with this training, in order to decide if this is the right training for you.

Step 4: Final Resolution

Following the above steps, the Admissions Committee meets and evaluates the complete profile and makes the final decision about your admission.

*In the event that the admission process and the scholarship application process have been initiated at the same time, this final resolution will be on both processes simultaneously.

Step 5a: Enrollment

Once you know if you have been admitted to the training, your registration will be formalized and your place will be saved for the desired training.

Step 5b: Process Denied

In case the final resolution of your admission process is denied, there are several options:

1)In case the denial was due to a level issue during your process, you have the opportunity to improve or modify your portfolio and apply again, to the same or another training, within 2 weeks after the denial.

2) In case the denial is because all places have already been assigned to other students, you can choose to remain on the priority waiting list, in case a place becomes available before the start of the training.

You can consult with your personal advisor and review the reason for your negative decision, so you can better prepare for your next admission process.

ENTRANCE EXAM

Some of our trainings, specifically those related to Concept Art (both Master and Career) require an entrance test to evaluate the student's level in order to grant or deny admission to the school.

What it consists of

The level test consists of the realization of an illustration with some characteristics marked by us that must be sent within a time limit of 10 days.

- A4 size (horizontal or vertical, personal choice)

- Illustration preferably in digital format

- Color

- PSD or PDF + JPG or PNG

The specific characteristics of the illustration will be sent to you by email once you start this phase of your admission process.

PORTFOLIO

In your admission process you will be asked to submit a portfolio or reel of previous work, so that we can see a little of the previous level with which you present yourself. If you do not have a portfolio or reel organized as such, you can submit individual files.

You can also submit a website or a social network profile where you share your work. You can submit Artstation, Instagram, Vimeo, Youtube, Behance, Github accounts.

You can also share files from Drive or Wetransfer.

If you hesitate to add a job or not, our recommendation is to always submit it. Keep in mind that these jobs serve to better understand your work, your profile and your current level, and everything you submit will add up. In case you submit any work that does not have the appropriate level, we will not count it for your admission, but it will not subtract you.

Format

Depending on the training you choose to apply for, you will be able to submit work in drawing, modeling, animation, game videos, editing, etc.

How to submit your work

In case of an online portfolio, such as an Artstation or Vimeo account, you can add the link in the corresponding section of your application form.

In case you have an offline portfolio, you can send the file(s) directly to your personal advisor after filling out your form.

Deadlines

In order for your portfolio to be evaluated as part of your admission file, we recommend submitting it, as a standard, no later than one week after completing your admission form.

If you need a different time frame, you can consult directly with your admissions counselor to see what options are available.

SCHOLARSHIPS

We believe that every student deserves the opportunity to pursue their dreams. That's why at Universal Arts School we offer scholarships that can help you do just that.

We know how important it is for you to be able to focus on your studies without worrying about money; that's why we have created these scholarships, so you can focus on your future!

Universal Arts School recommends that you start the scholarship application process at the same time you begin the admissions process. This way, once you reach the final resolution you will know, in case you are admitted, if you have obtained the scholarship or not. You will then be able to enroll knowing what the total cost of your education will be.

How can I apply for this program?

The admission process has 5 total phases

Form: First of all you would have to fill out this form online to officially start your process
Level test: We will evaluate your current level through a portfolio review or specific test to be specified according to the selected training.
Admission interview: We want to know what are your motivations and professional objectives that you want to achieve with this training, and thus decide if this is the right training for you.
Final resolution: The Admissions Committee will evaluate your complete profile and make a decision on whether you are admitted to the training.
Enrollment: Once you know if you have been admitted to the training, your enrollment is formalized and your place will be saved.

In addition to this process, you can also apply for one of our partial scholarships.

When can I start the admission process?

The admission process is open until the places in each call are exhausted, so if you have everything clear you could start it right away. Our recommendation is always to start the admission process as soon as possible to ensure that there are still places available.

Same if you are looking to apply to one of our partial scholarships. Keep in mind that the scholarships run out faster than the places, so if you are looking to obtain one of them it will always be better to start your process as soon as possible.

Do I need previous related training to access the training?

It is not a requirement that you have previous related training to take our training, although during the admission process it will be evaluated if you have sufficient knowledge at a practical level to be able to carry out the training. You may have acquired this knowledge with official training or self-taught.

What are the admission requirements?

The main thing we look for in our students is that they have the skills, aptitudes and attitudes necessary to be able to carry out the program. This ranges from having a previous level in the chosen area, to a very marked professional aspiration. In other words, we are looking for students for whom this is not a hobby, but who want to dedicate themselves to this at a professional level.

In the event that you are not very sure if you have the necessary level to carry out the training, you can contact one of our personal advisors so that they can carry out a prior evaluation of your profile, without any type of cost or commitment.

How much workload will I have in this training?

The face-to-face classes last 12 hours a week, and in the case of the online modality this load is slightly reduced because the teachers clean and edit the content so that you have the necessary material. In addition to this, we recommend spending at least the same number of hours a week to practice what you have learned and do the weekly tasks.

Keep in mind that, as it is a totally practical training, all the additional hours that you dedicate to working will be to your benefit since they will be reflected in better deliveries and a better portfolio.

I would like to take a Double Master but I am not very sure which one, what can I do?

In case you have doubts about which training to choose, don't worry, we are here to help and advise you. Request information on the training that, a priori, you think may be the one that best suits you, and when speaking with your personal advisor you can raise your doubts so that we can advise you on the training that best suits you based on your objectives current professionals and skills.

What types of scholarships are there?

At UNIVERSAL ARTS SCHOOL we offer two types of partial scholarships:

Talent Scholarship: It is awarded based on the student's talent in one of our four fields: Animation, Film, Videogames, or Illustration. In order for a student to be considered for this scholarship, they must demonstrate their passion for their chosen field through examples of work completed.
Study Assistance Scholarship: Granted based on academic merit and/or financial need. Students who apply for this scholarship must submit official academic records from the schools they have previously attended, and/or family economic reports.

Each student can apply to any of them, or to both. Every student can get one of them.

Who can apply for the scholarships?

Our scholarships are available to be applied for by any student who is in the admission process for any of the UNIVERSAL ARTS SCHOOL courses.

When can I start the scholarship application process?

The process can be started at any time from the start of the admission process until the start of classes.

Our recommendation is to start at the same time as the admission process. In this way, both procedures will be resolved at the same time, and the student will be able to enroll knowing exactly what the cost of their training will be.

If I am already a student, can I also apply for one of the scholarships?

The scholarships are attached to the economic conditions in force at the time of starting the process.

If you are already a student and have financial conditions other than those currently in force, you could apply for one of the scholarships, but your conditions would be adapted to the current ones.
