Training Essentials VFX with Houdini

Description

Nowadays if we talk about VFX we talk about Houdini, but why is this software so important if you want to become an FX TD? In this workshop we will not only give answers to these questions but we will also create from scratch and procedurally a whole scene with simulation and FX. We will cover concepts such as VEXs, VOPs, SOPs, DOPs and many more. Finally we will be introduced to the world of USD and rendering with Karma.

DESCRIPTION OF THE TRAINING

Training Essentials VFX with Houdini

In this exciting introductory workshop to Houdini, you will immerse yourself in a fascinating learning journey from exploring the user interface to creating stunning visual effects.

We'll start by exploring Houdini's user interface, getting familiar with its different areas and discovering how to navigate efficiently.

In addition, you will delve into the world of attributes, understanding their importance and how to use them. We will discover the exciting world of procedural modeling. You will learn about VEX and VOPs, our most powerful tools. We will take control using HDAs.

We will continue our journey into simulation and dynamics. You will learn the fundamental concepts of DOPs and dive into the fascinating world of particle systems. With Pyro, you will learn how to simulate fire and smoke using. You will learn to control and manipulate these elements to achieve stunning and "art-directable" visual effects.

We will take Pyro simulation a step further. You will learn how to create explosion and detonation effects using advanced techniques and fine tuning.

Discover USD with Solaris. You will discover how to use shaders and texture maps to create realistic and convincing materials in your scenes. You will also learn how to set up lights and master the art of positioning and animating cameras.
